This redefines “side car.”
A motorist’s dashcam captured the terrifying moment a truck dragged a car down an Illinois freeway in a scene straight out of “The Fast and the Furious.”
NBC reported that the accident occurred Tuesday morning after a vehicle crashed into the semitruck on Interstate 294 in Cook County, Chicago.
Accompanying footage, recorded by passing driver Grzesiek Misiek, shows the titanic transport hurtling down the highway with a black sedan pinned underneath. At one point, a passenger can be seen waving out of the “side car’s” window as the car is dragged down the road.
Despite the nail-biting footage, no one was injured during the inadvertent tow job. Authorities briefly shut down two of the freeway’s lanes so they could investigate the incident.
This isn’t the first freak accident to occur on US roadways as of late. In August, a New Jersey motorist redefined “drive-thru” after they lost control of their car, causing it to sail through the air and crash into a Wendy’s, as seen in a wild police video. Read more from NY Post.
