A helicopter crashed into the ocean just a few feet from swimmers in the famous South Beach section of Miami Beach
Two passengers are reported in stable condition, after being taken to a nearby hospital.

According to the FAA, the helicopter went down “under unknown circumstances” and three people were aboard.
Miami Beach police said two people were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition.
MBPD also tweeted video of the crash, which can be seen below.
There was no word on the health status of a third occupant.
A witness to the crash described what he saw to Local 10 News.
“The whole beach ran to the scene,” said Shawn Adams, who is visiting Miami Beach from Las Vegas. “Probably ten guys pulling the skid down so it didn’t collapse, because it was sitting on the blade. When the blade snapped, the helicopter started going over, so while we are pulling the skid down, two guys were inside pulling the passengers out.”
Officers closed the beach between 9th Street and 11th Street following the crash.
Authorities said the aircraft was a Robinson R44 helicopter. Read more from local 10

The Miami Beach Police Department said on Twitter that it received a call Saturday afternoon about the crash in the area off South Beach.
A video shared by the police captures the helicopter descending over the ocean and crashing into the water as sunbathers crowd the beach and others swim.
Police closed off a two-block stretch of the beach, in the area where travelers frequent outdoor cafes, restaurants and shops. The police department said the Federal Aviation Administration is responding to the scene. Read more from ABC6
