‘DWTS’ Tyra Banks is going to miss Jeannie Mai on Dancing With the Stars.
The season 29 contestant and Real cohost had to drop out of the competition after being hospitalized for epiglottitis, which Mayo Clinic describes as a potentially life-threatening condition where a small cartilage piece swells in the windpipe and blocks airflow to the lungs.

Luckily, Jeannie gave Dancing With the Stars viewers on Monday confirmation that she was doing okay after needing immediate surgery for her condition.
“I found out that I have a throat abscess, where my tonsils and my throat had gotten so infected that it started permeating to the rest of the areas behind my neck and my ears that I had to get emergency surgery, which is why I’m here now,” Jeannie shared during Monday night’s episode.
Even though the surgery was a success, a medical professional in the clip said that if Jeannie had “waited one more day,” her throat could’ve closed up. Thankfully though, Jeannie appears to be on the mend and focusing on her recovery. While feeling better, she was noticeably emotional that she and her pro partner, Brandon Armstrong, had to leave the show prematurely.
“I’m just so thankful I had the experience on Dancing with the Stars, “she said. “It was hands down one of the best journeys of my life, so thank you so much and I love you guys.”
Understandably, Tyra got choked up while watching Jeannie’s health update air on the show. “Jeannie, we’re glad everything went well and that you’re on your way to a speedy recovery,” Tyra said on camera as she fended off tears. “As you see, I’m emotional. We’re all emotional in here.” Read more from Yahoo! News.
