The CMA Awards returned Wednesday with country music heavyweights and fast-rising stars hoisting the night’s trophies.
Chris Stapleton won big taking home several trophies for male vocalist of the year, album of the year single and song of the year. However, it was Luke Combs who rose to the occasion and took the biggest award of the night, entertainer of the year.
The CMA Awards began awarding trophies early Wednesday, with Kelsea Ballerini and Kenny Chesney scoring Music Video and Musical Event of the Year for duet “Half of My Hometown.” They swept two pre-show categories revealed on ABC program “Good Morning America.”
